The moon rises in the constellation of Sagittarius, making it an ideal day to tend to and harvest fruits. Biodynamic agriculture creates a unique terroir in the taste of vegetables and fruits. Fertility is ideally generated within the farm, known as the farm organism, so by minimizing external inputs, the flavor of our food truly reflects our locality. In permaculture zone five is outside the farm organism, but it’s wonderful to gather wild berries from these natural areas. On this fire day, when fruits are at their peak vitality, it’s a perfect time to collect them and make seasonal jam.
