As Mercury becomes visible in the evening sky, joining Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn, we are reminded of its unique place in the solar system. The smallest and fastest planet, Mercury orbits the Sun every 88 days. In biodynamic practice, each compost preparation is linked to a planet. For Mercury, Chamomile 503 is added to the compost pile, where it helps assimilate calcium. Like the other preparations, it works in harmony with the entire set of six compost preparations, each contributing its unique influence to enhance the composting process. As the compost preparation disperses through the land, it benefits the soil and plants, starting as an inoculator in the compost pile and continuing to support healthy growth.
