Today, the moon rises in the constellation of Virgo. This earthy constellation makes it a favorable time to sow beetroots and carrots. In biodynamic nutrition, root vegetables are considered beneficial for ailments in the head region, such as headaches, or to aid with thinking. The earthy qualities of root vegetables can help calm and ground us. Interestingly, just as plants have their roots in the ground, human beings can be viewed as upside-down plants, with our heads metaphorically in the ground, our brains mirroring a root network, and our lungs corresponding to leaves.
