We arrive at the new moon, a time when the moon’s orbit positions it between the Earth and the Sun. This marks a moment of new beginnings and perhaps an opportunity to renew any failed New Year’s resolutions. The new moon is in the constellation of Capricorn, which may help us set more grounded and achievable goals. In the garden, this is an ideal time to tend to hedges that need pruning, as well as to carry out land management tasks on paths, borders, trellises, and other structural elements. While the garden still feels dormant, this presents a valuable opportunity to prepare for the unfolding of spring
